Japan: Xaxis, GroupM’s outcome media specialist, today announces the appointment of Leanne Bowles as the General Manager for Xaxis Japan. Bowles will report to Arshan Saha, Xaxis CEO, Asia-Pacific and Michael Beecroft, GroupM CEO, Northeast Asia. In her role, Bowles will drive the growth of programmatic advertising in a highly-wired Japanese market, while managing the agency’s relationship with its growing pool of clients.
Bowles brings ten years of experience within the GroupM network, including over four years with Xaxis Asia Pacific before moving to Mindshare China where she held the position of Partner, Investment Strategy for over three years, creating, delivering, and executing proprietary solutions to drive value for her clients.
Xaxis maximises the outcome of digital media investments for more than 3,000 brands through its proprietary AI solutions, in 48 markets around the world including Japan. However despite a high internet adoption rate and incredible connectivity, Japanese consumers record the least amount of time spent online. according to a GWI survey of 46 key economies. This suggests that advertisers need to compete harder for attention and engagement from consumers, and Bowles’ key focus in her role is to drive value for Japanese advertisers.
