New Delhi: Championing resilience and unyielding perseverance, young Indians have emerged as one of the many true warriors in the country’s collective fight against the deadly second wave of coronavirus. As the virus affected millions across the country, the youth stepped up – defying all challenges – to extend unrelenting support to impacted individuals and families within and beyond their network. From setting up online resources with leads for any medical assistance to kick-starting initiatives to provide meals and other assistance to COVID-patients, to joining on-ground workers and organizations working on relief measures, etc. – young Indians went above and beyond to serve the larger community.
Honoring the fighting spirit of the youth during these tumultuous times, Goibibo and veteran actor, Anupam Kher have come together to cheer for their unwavering spirit in the fight against COVID-19. The digital campaign, #WeWillTakeOffAgain re-instills hope and a sense of optimism for greener days in the future. The campaign is a direct message from the elder generation applauding and encouraging the fervor of the young and motivating them to keep moving ahead while challenging the odds. Sharing thoughts on the intent of the campaign, Sunil Suresh, Chief Marketing Officer at Goibibo, said, “This has been a difficult time for everyone and especially our youth as they have had to bottle up their passion and energy and remain indoors. However, they demonstrated their mettle as the second wave of Covid engulfed the nation, where we saw youth stepping up as frontline respondents and innovators to serve and support those affected directly or indirectly by the virus –and their efforts have been nothing short of extraordinary. Through this campaign, we would like to thank and applaud their collective contributions and also deliver a message of hope. These tough times will pass and their drive, resolve, and passion will see them fly to new heights”.
Heeru Dingra, CEO, WATConsult said, “In the past year and a half, we have met with some dire hardships and unprecedented challenges. But through it all, we also had the privilege of witnessing some amazing acts of service by the youth of this country. From offering credible information to lending a helping hand, to uplifting spirits, young people have turned to social media to lead the way. So, in the spirit of celebrating these heroes, we conceptualized the #WeWillTakeOffAgain campaign for Goibibo. Through this campaign, we want the youth to know that their efforts aren’t going unnoticed and they are inspiring us all to give back in our own ways too.”
As part of the campaign, Goibibo will be seen inviting people to tag real-life COVID warriors including friends, influencers and individuals within or beyond their network. Also, as an extension to the campaign, the company will be seen applauding the efforts of various internet communities including groups and influencers for helping the ones in need by reaching out to millions in their network, and for spreading positivity and optimism through their inspiring and pleasing conversations.
