In conversation with Medianews4u, Sanjeev KR Sinha, Country Sales Manager – India & SEA, Streambox, spoke about the company’s hopes about the Indian market, the global video streaming market and more.
Excerpts:
Speaking on Streambox’s hopes from the Indian Market, Sanjeev said, “India itself is a big market, and it covers adjacent countries as well. We expect Brand establishment, Streambox India office to cover SAARC countries, and we look forward to tremendous business growth to make Streambox one of the leading brands in its category. We are planning for an office with an experience centre, full inventory, support team in India so that customers may get good service and support, and Streambox treated as a respectable brand-customer first choice.”
Sanjeev further elaborated on the end-to-end solutions offered by Streambox, “We have a Post-production solution which starts with our Encoder (Virtual or Hardware), It takes video input in SDI/ HDMI/ IP form and transmits it to Streambox cloud. From the cloud, customers can view either a Media player or they can go for a Decoder based solution in that they can get HD/ UHD/ 4K video output. This will help customers transmit the video in HDR/ SDR quality at 10/12 bit with 16 channel Dolby Audio.”
He continued, “In Broadcast Solution- We have a different type of Backpack Encoder which works on internet data aggregation technology, and it sends the video feed HDMI/ SDI to the server placed in the TV channel studio, this helps broadcasters to move across the geographical boundary and work hassle-free from anywhere across the globe. Our Mobile based application gives great flexibility to go live from anywhere by iOS, OSX, Apple TV, and Windows.”
Streambox considers traditional workflow and JPEG 2000 based workflow as competition on a global scale. JPEG 2000 requires about 800Mbps for 4K 12 Bit 4:4:4 streams, while ACT-L5 requires 80Mbps.
“In India, we believe that we have the strongest impact on the market. Streambox differentiates itself from other players by our flexible solutions. Streambox offers an OpEx model and CapEx model, allowing the option of purchase for every company. We also use proprietary compression in ACT-L3 and ACT-L5 codecs. Along with transport protocol LDMP, Low Delay Multipath VoIP transport protocol,” added Sanjeev.
“These days video and its management are essential for Corporate, Education, Broadcasters, Post Productions people. Our flexible solution keeps us moving hassle-free no matter if it is the same business or another business domain,” said Sanjeev.
Speaking about the challenges, Sanjeev said, “For Streambox, it varies from country to country like India is a good market for Film and Post-production, but it is not the same for other SAARC countries, so we have different strategies for different countries to serve our customers with proper solutions. The specific thing about India is, “It is a potential developing market, and we need to design a customer-centric solution.”
Streambox will bring colossal change, and its adoption means your post-production work will move on with significantly less delay. No matter your office location, it will make you a global resource. Streambox can help you share your Video, Session, timeline, give access to your device, show the output to the person sitting across the globe.
“Our virtual encoder, which is compatible with all major brands of Post Production systems, will help customers to add on new technology and add the facility to their client. Our system and solution will give a new direction to our customer in the current scenario and after covid effect on the market as well,” added Sanjeev.
The global Cloud Video Streaming Market is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 18.1% from 2019 to 2026.
Speaking on the factors that will lead to the market’s growth, Sanjeev said, “We would say the contributing factor is now more data security, better content distribution & management, global resource optimisation to make the content as per global standard. Other factors are Adopting video and production systems by the other segments like Education, Corporate, trending OTT, Adoption of Backpack system for video transfer and growing post-production market are major contributors.”
Sanjeev added, “Lockdown in India is one of the major contributing factors to move on cloud and access / transmit the content to the global offices.”
Speaking about the leading solution segments in 2021 within the video streaming market, Sanjeev said, The leading solution is a usage-based OpEx business model with professional quality solutions for content creation workflows.
Leading solutions include Streambox proprietary codec and transport protocol. Streambox proprietary codec includes ACT-L5 compression software that allows streaming in 4K 12 Bit 4:4:4 with only 80-100Mbps.”
He further continued, “Streambox utilises LDMP or Low Delay Multi-Path VoIP transport protocol for network reliability and lower latency. Streambox utilises software-based solutions such as Streambox Spectra, a virtual encoder with near-lossless colour on-premises or a Virtual Machine. Also, Media Players for playback in high-quality streams.”
