New Delhi: Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division), Asia’s leading paint manufacturer today launched the A.C.E.D Awards 2021, in a virtual conference by Mr. S Mahesh Anand, President – Decorative Paint, Nippon Paint (India) and. M. Saravanan, State President, FACEAT&P. This award will felicitate the creations executed by some of the best Civil engineers across Tamil Nadu. A.C.E.D is one such gesture of appreciation for the work they do. This is the first edition of A.C.E.D (Architectural and Civil Engineering Design Awards).
Architectural wonders such as the Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower, the Tanjore Temple, and the Taj Mahal continue to amaze us over time as evidence of the incomparable skill of human civilization architecture and engineering. The role of civil engineers is enormous and their ability to turn stone and soil into habitable places is certainly to be commended. The A.C.E.D – Architectural and Civil EngineeringDesign Awards, presented by Nippon Paint will recognize the best civil engineers in Tamil Nadu and honor their skills and work.
Winners will be selected by researching various aspects such as the use of renewable resources in construction, the use of local materials available in the respective towns, the aesthetic features of the building, the novelty of the design, human-centered design, the use of space, the design suitable for the environment, color choice and cost optimization.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners will be chosen for 2 categories- residential and commercial by the prestigious jury of industry experts. Subcategory of awards includes- Best color choice, Best green project, and Popular choice award (based on likes on Facebook). The top 25 projects will be decided by the Nippon Paint Committee in the first phase, from which the top 5 winners will be decided by the judges. The panel of esteemed judges includes Ar.C.N.Raghavendran (Partner CRN Architects), Dr.Benny Kuriakose (Founder and Conservation Architect/Designer Benny Kuriakose and Associates), Ar.Kapil Chitale (Partner Chitale Architects), Prof. Er. Ligy Philip (Dean Planning-IIT-Madras), Dr.V.Suresh (IGBC National Chairman), and Dr.K.P.Jaya (Director, Centre of Research, Structural Engineering Anna University) will choose the winners. Apart from the cash prizes of up to Rs.10,000, the winners will also get an opportunity to visit Nippon Paint Factory.
Brief for participating in A.C.E.D 2021:
Participating Civil engineers can submit a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 20 projects. They can submit not only completed projects but also your projects currently under construction. (Submit only projects that will be completed within 3 months). Completed projects should not be earlier than three years. They must describe the uniqueness of their project in a few lines when submitting their project pictures. They should also mention why their project deserves to succeed! If the project is currently in progress, all render images should be in the color code of the Nippon Paint Shade Card only. Entries need to be sent before 31st July 2021.
