PR professionals will have to explore new ways of creating a strong reputation for the brands they handle
Tarunjeet Rattan – Managing Partner, Nucleus PR
The world of communication has changed forever. I remember when I first started out, I had a virtual office and I lost out on a potentially large client after reaching the final round because my office did not have four walls and a roof. Funny, how life comes full circle. Today we not only incorporate this model willingly into our work processes but champion it. Going forward, the 5 points my agency will focus on the following:
Hybrid Work Model: This will be one of the biggest focuses for our organisation. While we had extended a remote-working offer to select members of our team only which help us quickly pivot to create a stop-gap arrangement for the rest of our team. We kept tweaking it along the way to keep pace with the changing circumstances. Going forward we will re-work this to create a more robust model that will be more convenient for the entire team and also for on boarding new candidates.
Digital PR: A decade’s worth of growth has been packed in a few months this year. For the better part of this decade PR professionals have been encouraging clients to give digital PR a serious shot. Now, there is no other route. For the last couple of years, we have been building up our digital skills and looking at innovative ways on incorporating that with PR strategies. In 2021, we will give this an aggressive push. This is an idea whose time has come.
Collaborations: Only media-led plans will not work. PR professionals will have to explore new ways of creating a strong reputation for the brands they handle. At Nucleus PR, we have developed an interesting niche of curating symbiotic and impactful collaborations between brands. This requires a keen eye, tact and speed. We intend to focus on growing this skill within the team in 2021.
Podcast: Podcasts will see more attention from the industry on an overall level. While we will also toe the line, we will focus on our own PR podcast – All About PR. Launched in October 2020, we intend to bring interesting conversations on PR & Communication to the industry.
Owned Media: So far, we have been leveraging our own owned media to start pertinent conversations and throw a spotlight on our clients. Going forward, we will focus on actively taking up owned media channel strategy and development for clients we work with.
