Kolkata: With USD 1 Million in investments, custom furniture startup WoodenStreet is expanding into the markets of West Bengal by opening two new Experience Stores in the city of Kolkata – beginning with the launch of the first-ever store in the high-end residential area of Salt Lake. This will later be followed by another store in the next 6 months.
This newly-launched store has a carpet area of around 5,000 sqft, and is a one-stop shop for furniture, furnishings and décor accessories. Furthermore, the company plans to take its expansion further within East and South-East India. These experience stores will serve as a touch-and-feel point for consumers to experience the quality and services that the company has to offer.
This marks the return of the company’s expansion drive post-lockdown – with a new focus for eastbound expansion that begins with Kolkata. “The diversity of India makes it difficult to attach a stereotypical category of furniture to its people”, explains Lokendra Ranawat, CEO of WoodenStreet.
“This is why we aim to bring a variety that caters to every Indian furniture need, along with a host of other services such as interior designing, décor accessories and furniture customization”, Ranawat further elaborates. “Every furniture piece carries the essence of diversity, handcrafted by Indian artisans using the best of Indian woods and other raw materials.”
WoodenStreet will continue its nation-wide expansion by erecting multiple stores in the upcoming 12 to 18 months. The company currently operates 25+ brick-and-mortar stores across 15 major cities of India, delivering a range of over 10,000 furniture and décor products to over 300 Indian cities.
