Bengaluru: Leading up to Ganesh Chaturthi this year, Zee Kannada has a week-long celebration in store for its viewers. Being the General Entertainment Channel in Karnataka, Zee Kannada has garnered the trust and loyalty of a wide viewer base. In line with its commitment to entertain its audiences, the channel will be airing ‘Mahasangama’ – the grand coming together of two of its most popular shows – JotheJotheyali and Gattimela – from Monday, 17th August to Saturday, 22nd August at 8pm to 9pm
This Mahasangama will include the unity of Zee Kannada’s popular characters Aryavardhan and Anu from Jothe Jotheyali, and Amulya and Vedanth from Gattimela, along with their families to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. The two shows have enjoyed the consistent love and adulation from its viewers over the years. They have come to be invested in each of the characters and their journeys, thus resulting in the shows garnering a 11 TVR across Jothe Jotheyali and Gattimela. The channel has been conducting polls on Twitter and Instagram[Thursday, 13th August] to assess the appetite among the viewers for the Mahasangama, and the results so far have been extremely encouraging.
The festival culminates in the ‘Visarjan’ or the immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha in the sea, which can lead to toxic materials seeping into the water, resulting in pollution. The aim of this Mahasangama is to enlighten the viewers on responsible celebrations.
