Mumbai: World Environment Day, UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) under its global theme – ‘Super Year For Nature & Biodiversity’ released a campaign with MoEFCC (Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change) conceptualized by Ogilvy.
The inaugural session witnessed the presence of eminent personalities such as Dia Mirza (UNEP Goodwill Ambassador), Shri. Babul Supriyo (Hon’ble State Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change), Shri. Ramesh Pokhriyal (Hon’ble Minister of Human Resource Development), and Shri. Prakash Javadekar (Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change). Owing to the current scenario, the event was broadcasted live by the ministry:
The campaign brought to light the dwindling population of endangered species in India namely, Snow Leopard, Gangetic River Dolphin & Great Indian Bustard.
Sukesh Nayak, Chief Creative Officer India, Ogilvy: “To address UNEP’s global theme – Super Year for Nature & Biodiversity, we felt the need to highlight India’s endangered species. The rare sightings of these species and the wish to see more of them in their respective habitats inspired us to create the campaign.”
