Media Research Users Council India (MRUC India) announced the release of the last and final quarter – Q4 of IRS 2019. IRS 2019Q4 is a rolling average of four quarters of IRS 2019 data i.e. Q1+Q2+Q3 and Q4 2019, the fieldwork (Q4) of which covers from December 2019 through March 2020.
The sample size of IRS 2019 is 3.27L households across India out of which urban sample size is 2.14L Households and rural is 1.13L Households. IRS 2019Q4 is the full year report covering four quarters of a continuous and uninterrupted IRS 2019 fieldwork.
The rise in percentage figures of English Read & Understand stating 26% in Q1 to 27% in Q2 to 29% in IRS 2019 Q3 and 30% in IRS Q4 shows the growth that English Dailies Readership has witnessed.
Read in L1M (TR) percentage of Any English Dailies across India has decreased from 37.3% in Q1 to 36.7% in Q2 to 35.7% in Q3 and 34.5% in IRS Q4 2019. Also stated that All India AIR % of Any English Dailies has also witnessed a drop with 1.2% in Q1, Q2 and in Q3 and 1.1% in IRS Q4 2019.
In Mumbai and Chennai, Times of India (TOI) tops the leadership board staying ahead of HT, Mumbai Mirror and The Hindu respectively. In the North Dainik Jagran is the leader in UP, Hindustan in Bihar and Prabhat Khabar in Jharkhand.
