International: After establishing ONE Championship (ONE) as the largest global sports media property in Asian history, the world’s largest martial arts organization is set to foray into non-scripted genre with the popular American reality show adaptation, The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition at the end of this year
With a once-in-a-lifetime prize money of US$250,000 and a job under the mentorship of ONE CEO, Chatri Sityodtong at their Global Headquarters in Singapore,16 contestants from around the globe will be handpicked to compete in this high-stakes challenge designed to test their limits and business acumen.
Brand professional, an IIT Delhi and IIM Bangalore Engineering pass out, Niharika Singh will don the role of an advisor to ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, who is also the high-profile host of the show.
Starting her professional career as consultant at McKinsey & Company, Singh next moved to Treebo Hotels before eventually relocating to Singapore where she joined the sporting media giants as the Vice President and Head of Product in mid-2019 in what has been a fascinating journey for one of India’s best young businesswomen.
“I will be following and observing the candidates throughout the tasks and will be relaying my feedback to Chatri. As an advisor to him, I will be candid in my feedback and will strongly and publicly air my opinions. In short, if any candidate wants to get to Chatri, he or she will need to get through me first,” said Singh, the 31-year-old who has been working closely with Sityodtong and understands more than anybody else what the champion entrepreneur looks for in a candidate.
The highly-popular original Apprentice, which was first launched in 2004 by MGM Television was a popular American reality television show hosted by the US President Donald Trump.
Based on it but with a fresh concept and content, The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition will be a “high-stakes game of business competitions and physical challenges. 12 of Asia’s top CEOs will be guest judges on the show alongside Chatri. And 12 ONE Championship world champion fighters will also participate as special guests in the physical challenges alongside the contestants to further intensify the competition in an unprecedented and extreme format.
Slated for release and distribution in Q4 of 2020, and produced by ONE Championship’s production arm, ONE Studios, and under license from MGM Television, it will run on both streaming and linear platforms across the Pan Asian region. It will also air on major television networks and digital channels in over 150 countries worldwide with 4 billion potential broadcast viewership reach.
“We are looking for the person with the strongest mind, the toughest body, and the most unbreakable spirit – which is essentially the rite of passage to ONE Championship. So, prepare to see nail-biting excitement, high stakes drama, and explosive emotions as these chosen 16 contestants compete for the opportunity of a lifetime,” Singh further added.
With countless auditions already pouring in on the website as well as Facebook and Instagram handles, selection procedure will be tough that will thoroughly test the mind and body of a candidate as well as his hunger to succeed.
