As the Bengali New Year dawns upon us, we have woken up to a different world. But amidst this, what has arisen, is an unprecedented amount of hope, help and rediscovering the joys and habits of everyday living – which is being noticed, especially by children.
So, this Bengali New Year, Nestle decided to let them do the talking.
Shot entirely from the terraces, windows, and rooms of their houses, the youngest generation sings a song of hope, ushering a different new year – a better, kinder one – urging us not to forget this small capsule of time, but to learn from it because better days are coming.
Sumanto Chattopadhyay, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, 82.5 Communications, said, “Bengalis welcome the New Year with this song by Tagore. It signifies letting go of all things negative, including illness, from the past year. At the time of COVID-19, this message takes on even greater significance, becoming a heartfelt wish for a pandemic-free world.”
Mayur Varma, ECD and Creative Head, Mumbai, and Kolkata, 82.5 Communications, said, “At this difficult time, there have been a few positive changes too: Families spending more time together, sharing responsibilities at home. Kids are seeing these little positive changes. And perhaps wishing that these changes are for good. This too is a theme of the film.”
Pritha Chakraborty, Film Director, said, “In fiction, we always create relatable moments, but here the most beautiful part was that the moments were organically built by the people with love. As a director/editor all I had to do is to bind them seamlessly and tell a story which gives you hope in this crazy hour.”
When this is all over, we will emerge from this, changed for the better. Nestle hopes the changes we make, stay and create a good life for the future.
