Dilip Cherian, the Co-Founder of Perfect Relations, the public relations agency from the house of Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) India, and Advisory Board Member of Yuva Unstoppable joins the fight against the global pandemic COVID-19 by launching the ‘Unstoppable Police Project’ to support the police force of India and their families with a thank you kit comprising the basic health and hygiene equipment as well as a special acknowledgement note. The objective behind Dilip Cherian’s brainchild is to reach out to maximum number of police, men and women across the country and protect them and their distressed families from getting infected by Corona Virus as they lay bare their lives to protect the citizens of this nation.
This initiative kicked off in Ahmedabad and in the presence of Shri Ashish Bhatia, Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad. Around 1000 kits were distributed to the Police posted near the Railway station. They further plan to support the police force in other parts of Gujarat, Delhi, UP, Punjab, Haryana & Maharashtra. The Kits will be sent to central locations in the states and then distributed to the police further across. The aim is to reach out to and keep safe close to around 5,00,000 police personnel and an even larger number of their family members across the country as they fight the battle against COVID-19 from the frontlines. 100% of the donations received from this campaign will go straight towards benefitting the beneficiaries and all measures to enhance the safety and effectiveness of law enforcement shall be observed. Our PM too in his speech mentioned that Police personnel should be taken care of. He also thanked people for helping and supporting them.
‘The Unstoppable Police Project’ was launched in order to prevent further spread in India, which may lead to an even bigger crisis for the populous country. As of now, about 14 lakhs police force are patrolling the streets of India to help people stay indoors and stay safe. Considering that they would be coming in touch with their children and elderly parents or other family members at home, who are particularly susceptible to the Corona Virus, the number of at-risk people further increases! Hence, Perfect Relations and Yuva Unstoppable have tied up with the government of various states for distribution of ‘Thank You Kits’ for these ‘True Heroes’ and their heroic families back home. Each kit costs INR. 250/- and comprises, one reusable mask, 10 disposable masks, 100 ml sanitizer, and 100 ml hand wash liquid or 75g antibacterial soap along with a thank you note for the families of policemen and women.
Talking about this initiative, Mr. Cherian said, “Looking after our frontline Corona warriors is part of fighting the VirusWar. Our policemen are in this battle shoulder to shoulder with health workers & other essential service personnel. Perfect Relations have teamed up with Yuva to try ensure that we help protect the lives & families, of these more vulnerable fellow citizens. Together we’ll win this war.”
“I am very grateful to Dilip Cherian and entire Cherian family for initiating this empowering movement to stand with this country’s enforcers of law and order with such compassion and support. Not only the police, but their families equally matter and deserve to be safe & healthy. I am positive that together we would be able to make a huge difference and navigate these testing times,” added Amitabh Shah, Founder and Chief Inspiration Officer, Yuva Unstoppable.
As India continues to observe the nationwide lockdown announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24th March, 2020. Thousands of police are working non-stop on the streets, with limited food or sleep, to ensure that the lockdown is strictly observed and that the general public is safe. In the process, they become extremely vulnerable to the dreadful Corona Virus and often, also end up putting the lives of their family members at risk when they go back home. According to sources, just in New York, the number of affected police personnel has gone up to 900 and many more remain susceptible to the diseases. Across the globe, the situation remains grave and is worsening day by day.
