According to BARC India’s viewership data for week 12, English News channels have seen a tremendous growth both in average impressions and reach, in the 22+ NCC A male, on a week-on-week basis.
Refer to the table that highlights average impressions in MN for English News channels in the Mega Cities, India Today TV has witnessed a huge jump of 529 MN impressions in week 12. Such staggering growth is not only in India Today TV’s case but even other channels such as Times Now has grown by 416.3 MN impressions in week 12.
India Today TV too has grown by a huge percentage of 24.2% in the Mega Cities and 20.5% in All India. Similarly Times Now has grown by 19.0% in the Mega Cities and 19.4% in All India in the same span like the rest of the channels. All the channels in this genre has seen a growth. Average share of the English News Genre in the 22+ M AB too has increased. India Today TV saw a 22.0% increase as compared to Times Now with 19.2%. English news channels has also added women viewers.
