Kochi: “Follow Heart Rules, Follow Traffic Rules” was the slogan for Mathrubhumi Arogyamasika health and Wellness magazine and Kerala traffic police on the occasion of World Heart Day. The unique initiative was undertaken to raise awareness and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
The activity was conducted at 2 busiest traffic junctions of Kochi and Trivandrum, where kerala police personnel and their student police band interviewed the traffic when signals turned red. Policemen through the announcement connects traffic blocks and heart block and raise awareness message in the necessity to make healthy living a part of our daily lifestyle to avoid heart blocks. After the announcement police gave gifts to people who obeyed traffic rules.
The activity was inaugurated by DGP, Kerala State Police Chief Loknath Behera at Trivandrum along with Mathrubhumi officals.
The highlight of the day-long activity included gathering immense public support and appreciation from the state police.

Speaking on this occasion, Shreyams Kumar, Jt Managing Director, Mathrubhumi Group said “We wished to create awareness and encourage people to take small steps towards changing their lifestyle, which can give bigger returns in the long run while strengthening the heart and help build a healthier lifestyle”.
