Bengaluru: The Printers (Mysore) Private Ltd., owned English Newspaper Deccan Herald has gone for a revamp effective from 1st August 2019.
As part of the revamp Deccan Herald has got a bold new masthead in aquamarine blue, a colour with richness to convey the depth the newspaper strives for in its journalism, and attractiveness to appeal to younger readers who need coaxing to pick up a newspaper. It has a formal tagline below the ‘DH’ on the masthead that says ‘The Power of Good’ demonstrating its resolve.
It also got new fonts with centralised headlines and more white space. The new design aims to remove clutter at a time of information overload, leaving readers to have a relaxed reading experience.
Deccan Herald has introduced a new Sunday opinion page, christened The Prism and a new business section on Mondays. On the supplement front, it has added showtime – new show biz offering on Saturdays. Deccan Herald has merged Travel and Living into a new supplement on Tuesdays.
In addition to the newspaper revamp, Deccan Herald also hinted on going digital by linking the physical product with its fast-growing digital cousins that will be announced in shortly.
