Mumbai: Emkay Global Financial Services Limited, a leading financial services group, today announced the appointment of Sunil Tirumalai as Head of Research and Equity Strategy.
At Emkay, Sunil will further broaden and deepen the research methodology by bringing in best global practices in equity research.
Mr. Tirumalai comes with 13 years of experience in ‘Sell Side’ research and most recently served as a Director at the India Research unit of Credit Suisse. At Credit Suisse, he was a highly rated analyst covering the NBFC and Telecom sectors, consistently featuring in the top 3 positions in Institutional Investor (II) India rankings. Sunil is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and has a bachelor’s degree in Technology from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy. Apart from overseeing all the sector model portfolios, Sunil will express his strategy view via the Nifty benchmarked Emkay Alpha Portfolio.
Emkay has one of the largest equity research teams in the Indian context, comprising of 19 writing analysts, and covering 352 stocks (including soft coverage). Sunil will in turn report to SuveerChainani, the CEO of Institutional Clients Group, who joined Emkay from Citigroup Global Markets India in January 2019.
