New Delhi: The information and broadcasting ministry has announced that it is planning to review the policy guidelines of up-linking and downlinking of TV Channels that were previously reviewed in 2011.
The ministry has notified NBA, IBF, All teleport operators and all news agencies of electronic media and advised them to seek views and suggestions from its members and associations and also invited them to attend the meeting scheduled in this regard on 6th June 2019.
The meeting to discuss changes in guidelines of up-linking and downlinking of TV Channels has been convened by join secretary (P&A) at 3:00 PM at Committee Room (654A) at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, 6th Floor, A Wing, ShastriBhavan, New Delhi.
The existing Policy guidelines for uplinking and downlinking for private satellite
TV Channels were last updated on 5th December 2011 during the UPA government. The changing scenario in broadcast industry has prompted the need for a review.
