Mumbai: Anil D. Ambani led Reliance Entertainment’s JV with Steven Spielberg and Participant Media won big this Sunday at the Academy Awards 2019, winning 4 Oscars.
“Green Book”, directed by Peter Farrelly, won the coveted Oscar for Best Picture of the Year, along with the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Mahershala Ali, and Best Original Screenplay Oscar for Nick Vallelonga, Brian Currie and Peter Farrelly. The Ryan Gosling starrer “First Man” won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
“Green Book”, was nominated for 5 categories – Best Picture, Best Actor (Viggo Mortensen), Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Screenplay & Best Film Editing ; “First Man” was nominated for 4 categories – Best Production Design, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing & Best Visual Effects & “Ready Player One” was nominated for Best Visual Effects.
Reliance Entertainment’s JV with Steven Spielberg has now bagged a total of 8 Oscars during the partnership, including for its earlier acclaimed films, The Help, Lincoln and Bridge of Spies.
