New Delhi: India Communication Summit, a conference, which recognises the work of the public relations and communications industry will open on March 1 in New Delhi. The one day event will have two sections. The first one starting will host some of the biggest names in the business of communication followed by Kaleido Awards in the evening. The conference will host five key session including a fireside chat, besides other sessions including, ‘What’s next in communication’, ‘Being politically correct’, ‘Journalists versus PR – friends or foes?’.
Industry bigwigs including Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog, Amy Kunrojpanya, director, policy and communication- Asia Pacific, Uber; Raza Khan head, group corporate communications, Airtel; Minari Shah, director, corporate communications, Amazon India will participate in the day long event. The conference will also have a dedicated session on how communication plays a key role in politics. Titled, ‘Being politically correct’, the session will host top spokesperson including Sanjay Jha from Congress, Sambit Patra from BJP and Ghanshyam Tiwari from SP.
In the evening Kaleido Awards – which has been specifically designed to honour some of the best work in the communication industry will be held between 6 pm to 9 pm. The award which draws its name from Kaleidoscope reflects the various lenses communication professionals use to design their communication strategy. Each hue or colour in the prism is a tool ranging from social media to earned media that is being used to either create a buzz about a product or even at times manage crisis. The awards which has a little over 40 categories is largely divided into three sections – Special Awards, Technical/Practice Area Awards and Industry Awards. While Special Awards largely recognises some of the best work in the field of communication by an individual, corporate and a PR agency, Technical Awards accolades the use of medium, technology, content, among others to establish a strong position of a brand. Industry Awards meanwhile acknowledges the best communication across various sectors including automotive, retail, e-tail, sports, consumer electronics among others.
Organised by Times Internet Ltd, the one-day event boasts of ET Now and ET Brand Equity as its media partners. The conference is an initiative by the group to recognise some of the best work executed by the communication industry.
