Chennai:Tamil Nadu’s youngest general entertainment channel Colors Tamil is all set to add a dash of colour and magic to your Pongal celebrations, offering a slew of special programmes this season.
Spread over January 15 and 16, the channel has lined up a vast range of entertaining fare, including Carnatic music, energetic dance performances and some of our most exciting serials; we will also give a glimpse of traditional celebrations across the state.
Kickstarting the festivities this Pongal, Colors will telecast the captivating ‘Managalisai’ from the captivating ‘Margazhi Thiruvizha’ series. As the much celebrated music season comes to a close, music lovers get another opportunity to watch their favourite singers of the year gone by belting out great Carnatic tunes from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM on 15th January 2019.
Following the enthralling music show, viewers will get to see some of the most celebrated dance forms of the state on television for the first time in the show called Pongu Tamil. None other than the legend of Tamil cinema Dr. Kamal Haasan will take the viewers on a journey to understand the evolution of Tamil culture and its art forms in this show, to be aired from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
Actor Karthi Sivakumar and the cast of Colors Comedy Nights will give the viewers their own take on current affairs in the state, 10:30 to 11:30 AM on 15th January and 2:30 to 3:30 PM on 16th January,
From 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM on 15th January and 3:30 to 6:30 PM on 16th January, viewers can indulge in Dance versus Dance, a special Pongal episode in the first-of-its kind-dance format reality show.
Set in the backdrop of Pongal celebrations with the judges and host dressed in traditional attire to complement the mood, the show has evergreen actress Nadhiya as the celebrity judge this week. Her vibrancy and energy will set the spirits of the contestants soaring as they perform with enthusiasm and zeal on the grand stage.
Telecast of the much awaited and celebrated Behindwoods Gold Medal Awards, the iconic edition, is scheduled to be aired between 3:30 and 6:30 PM on 15th January and 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM on 16th January. Bringing favourite stars a step closer, the program captures the true spirit of the awards function with spectacular entertainment.
Fiction shows, Vandhal Sridevi and Thirumanam, will also see special Pongal episodes. Set in a traditional village, viewers can catch their favourite stars Siddhu-Janani and Siddharth-Sridevi coming together with their reel-life families to celebrate Pongal in style on 15th and 16th of January at 9:00 to 9:30 PM and 10:00 to 10:30 PM.
