Mumbai: In line with its global campus co-location strategy, WPP is in the process of consolidating its larger group companies under swanky single campuses across key cities and help the businesses complement each other with greater collaboration.
Towing its international policy, WPP India has leased over 3 lakh sqft of ORB complex near Mumbai airport, from K Raheja Corp to shift all its group companies located in Goregaon and Lower Parelto the new WPP Mumbai Campus shortly.
WPP India’s country manager CVL Srinivas confirmed the development to ET. The lease deed signed for nine yearshas fixed the rental component at Rs 125 per sqft a month with a 15% upward revision once in every three years. The move will witness bring all the WPP group companies Group M, IMRB and O&M under one roof.
Speaking to ET CVL Srinivas said, “The plan to establish the WPP Mumbai Campus is in line with our global strategy of establishing WPP campuses in key cities. India is a leading growth market for WPP. To support our already strong local presence, we are developing an exciting new workspace that will help to drive more collaboration and enable our clients to have the best access to our talent and work.”
The majority of WPP’s Mumbai businesses will be housed in this building and the company is targeting the second half of 2019 to complete the move, said Srinivas.
In India, WPP Group employs close to 20,000 people across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad, besides a few other cities. The company will soon be signing a similar lease for its Gurgaon office also.
