one of the most popular and loved musical shows of India, Bipin R Pandit’s Khumaar, is coming to Baroda. Khumaar has been entertaining full houses of music loving audiences for the past 13 years in Mumbai, and is now going national. And the first city that it is moving out of Mumbai to, is the beautiful city of Baroda in Gujarat! On Friday the 28th of December 2018, at 6.15 pm, a 3-hour concert of Khumaar will regale music lovers at the Sir Sayajirao Nagargruh, Akota, Vadodara, which can accommodate an audience of 1000.
A well-segmented show, Khumaar will enthrall the audience with a wide variety of music and songs including timeless popular yesteryear hits across solos, duets, classical, qawwalis, songs of unsung heroes, along with regional songs, new songs and more in three hours. In fact, in the past, on public demand, the show has got extended even to 5 hours. All the singers and musicians of Bipin R Pandit’s Khumaar are top notch performers who do musical shows for a living.
“Khumaar has been entertaining houseful audiences in Mumbai for 13 years now, and I am delighted that as it moves out of Mumbai with a national focus, the first city it will play out in is Baroda, which is my birth place. So Khumaar is a show for every Barodian, and also for music lovers across other cities of Gujarat like Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Bharuch beyond. I hope and am sure they will attend and enjoy the show,” said Bipin R Pandit, founder & organizer of Khumaar.
Baroda-born Pandit, is also one of the city’s most talented sons. Apart from being a gifted and popular live show singer, Pandit has been associated with the Ad Club for 21 years, and has been the point person for the India’s biggest Advertising, Marketing and Media shows. He has successfully been the backbone of ABBYS (10), EFFIES (18), EMVIES (18), GoaFest (10), AdAsia (10) and many other mega shows, seminars and workshops of national and international scale.
Over the years, Bipin R Pandit’s Khumaar has become a brand. The last show held on 10th February, 2018 at the Ravindra Natya Mandir, Mumbai, was a big success, attended by more than 1000 music lovers. In fact despite being a ticketed show, Bipin R Pandit’s Khumaar is by far the only show of its kind that gets houseful one month ahead of every performance.
Khumaar ki Khoj to introduce two talented singers from Gujarat
Khumaar also promotes young talent through its segment Khumaar ki Khoj, which has been identifying promising singers for four years now. Pandit announced that two very talented singers – one each from Baroda and Ahmedabad — will perform on the platform of Khumaar on 28th December, 2018. “If they go on on to become big stars, I will be the happiest person,” Pandit said, adding, “Our find Shrinidhi Ghatate, whom we launched under this segment, is a playback singer today. She sings for Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and is being hailed as the Shreya Ghoshal of the future.”
Over the years, luminaries who have graced Bipin R Pandit’s Khumaar are Music Director Pyarelalji, Pandit Suresh Wadkar, Roop Kumar Rathod, Sonali Rathod, and from the world of Media & Entertainment, dignitaries like Pradeep Guha, Ramesh Narayan, Prasoon Joshi, Bhaskar Das, Shashi Sinha, Ajay Kakar, Ajay Chandwani, Anurag Batra, Subhash Kamath, M. Social causes
Bipin R Pandit’s Khumaar has also promoted social causes. It had tied up with an NGO, Light of Life, founded by Mrs. Villy Doctor. They have been doing great work in getting school dropouts to be reinstated, imparting skills to students to make them self-reliant, giving free medical treatment to the needy, and making life of the old and aged people better.
Pandit said, “It has been 28 years since I have been performing on stage — at times as a compere, at times as a mimicry artist, and on many occasions, both. I thank God for having given me the opportunity to associate with the best of groups like Babla, Beatles, Gunjan, Jhankar, Star Nite, Golden Beats, Lovely Star etcetera, and also some playback singers nites.”
