Mumbai: Moneycontrol held the first edition of Wealth Creator Awards, a distinguished event that was attended by national dignitaries and financial leaders to honor the entities, responsible for creating a robust financial services sector that has made India an economically stable nation. The prestigious event, held on 16th of November 2018 at TajLands End, Bandra, was attended by illustrious personalities of the industry.
The chief guest of the event Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation graced the occasion and spoke on a slew of topics. While addressing questions from media on ease of doing business, e-commerce, etc., the Union Minister said, “We are reaching out to the district level to promote grass-root entrepreneurship in the country. We definitely would like to encourage the ecommerce sector in the country, and promote it globally as much as possible. We have been working towards administrative measures to help companies across sectors in ease of doing business.”Further commenting on international trade, he said, “It’s time for India to take advantage of free trade. We have reduced some of the import duty on selected products and are working on a comprehensive package to discuss trade policy issues.”
Mr. Arun Jaitley, Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs who was the Honorary Chief Guest of the event in a recorded message stated, “Creation of wealth is always a challenging process, and will continue to pose as a challenge for our future generations as well. Increased productivity involves further generation of wealth, which by its distributive process can lead to equity in a more prosperous environment. The future is based on the distribution of wealth that will be determined by those who are able to generate greater wealth. Digital financial platforms like moneycontrol serve great national purpose and come as a boon for those who want to educate themselves regarding the sector. A platform like this is going to aid the financial and economical world tremendously.”
