T1, Turner International’s digital advertising division announced earlier this year, is expanding with new hires and the launch of a suite of global products.
Fiona McKinnon is now on board as General Manager, having worked with Turner over the last few months on a consultancy basis to help establish T1. Fiona will focus on managing global operations and product development. In addition to her role with T1 Fiona leads The Pangaea Alliance, the world’s foremost digital advertising partnership of premium publishers. In her 18 years of experience in global media, Fiona was most recently an independent consultant advising publishers and ad tech businesses on programmatic strategy, technology innovation and new product launches.
To spearhead sales and brand partnerships, T1 has brought in Krane Jeffery to lead the division, alongside Fiona, in his role as Senior Commercial Director. An international position based in London, Krane is building digital partnerships for brands to engage with a global audience of 200 million unique users in over 200 countries across Turner’s entertainment, kids and family, sport and esport portfolio.
Krane has worked in media and marketing for nearly 20 years spanning digital and TV, video commercial strategy and content marketing. He was previously Head of Digital Sales at RTL Group where he launched pan-regional digital solutions and programmatic video products.
Krane and Fiona manage the T1 Commercial and Ad Operations teams based in London, and are now recruiting roles within EMEA, APAC and LATAM. Both Krane and Fiona report to Rob Bradley, Vice President, Digital Commercial Strategy and Digital Advertising Sales for T1 and CNN International Commercial.
In response to particularly strong immediate market interest in Turner’s sport offering, T1 has developed multiplat form worldwide sports packages across Turner’s digital properties that include Esporte Interativo, Bleacher Report, COPA90 and CNN Sport, enabling advertisers outside of the US to connect with fans through one entry point for multiple territories. Turner’s vast sports portfolio also spans international rights including Champions League football, NBA and PGA Golf, in the Americas and Europe.
In addition, T1 is driving the digital commercial expansion of Turner’s esports business ELEAGUE to cater for growing international demand amongst brands. It is providing advertisers with a bespoke offering that fuses capabilities for sponsorship of live events with multi-platform media activation and audience targeting through Launchpad – Turner’s optimisation tool that delivers branded content to highly defined, relevant audiences on social media.
“T1 is delivering on its aim to provide clients with creative and sophisticated solutions to reach specific audiences at scale within brand safe environments,” said Rani Raad, President, CNN International Commercial. “We are excited to be building an intelligent, agile team, with Fiona and Krane at the helm, and a smart suite of products that can deliver fast and impactful campaigns across a huge global portfolio.”
