Chennai: Leading Tamil Vernacular Newspaper Dinamalar has upgraded its Plants with latest Technology based machinery to put its plants in Full Automation mode.
All production plants of Dinamalar in Madurai, Coimbatore and Chennai are equipped with high-performance 4×1 web offset presses, which feature automated plate-making and punch bending, remote ink-pumping, AGV robotic reel movement and mailroom systems.
These production plants of the newspaper deliver UV-cured glossy print on glazed newsprint and other high-end textures produced in low wastage.
The newspaper installed its first Manugraph Smart line 4 x 1 press in the Madurai plant where installed a Ferag mailroom system too. The plant has also installed Technicon India’s automated 3/4th paper wrapper devices and telescopic conveyors.
At its plants in Coimbatore and Oragadam in Chennai, Dinamalar invested in GOSS Uniliner S 4×1 presses with four reel-stands for full colour reproduction of 24 pages. All the 4 x 1 presses at the plants use spray-dampening bars with no return of wastewater to the (dampening) system.
The newspaper has adopted 6 lamp heads for UV curing at speeds as high as 65,000 copies per hour and gluing systems for creating ten types of innovations using flaps and windows.
