Chennai: Global Video on Demand Service ‘Viu’ has collaborated with biggest production houses and local talent for its launch in Tamil regional market.
With the rising trend of regional original content, the company is focusing on bolstering its library. Heading strong into originals from the local markets, Viu are all set to foray into Tamil Nadu with relatable content for the millennial. It aims to redefine the digital entertainment landscape to create a new wave of content with the launch of four new premium digital shows, short form content and movies. Serving a variety of stories in different genres, the shows will range from comedy to rom-com to drama-based concepts.
Viuhas associated with the local partners to provide the best content to its audiences. For its kick start in Tamil, it is rightfully banking on the essence of the market as the new shows are directed by Tamilians for Tamilians.
To achieve their objectives with global lineage and local expertise, Viu is extremely happy to have strategic partnerships with AP International Films, pioneer in South Indian movies entertainment and the largest distributors of Tamil and Malayalam cinema. Through this collaboration, Viu is also working with some of the best minds in the industry.
Sameer Bharat Ram, known for the hit film Uriyadi as a producer, is making two series for the platform. With his in-house production company ‘Super Talkies’ he is proud to release– ‘Kalyanamum KadanthuPogum’ which will be directed by renowned NalanKumarasamy and ‘Madras Mansion’.
Another established writer, filmmaker cum comics creator – JS Nandini, who is best known for ‘ThiruThiruThuruThuru’ has also allied with ‘Make Believe Production’. Together, they will bring a very interesting concept to Tamil spectators, titled ‘NilaNilaOdivaa’.
Lastly, for its fourth show Viu has associated with the leading digital producer and independent media agency of the South – ‘TrendLoud’. They will be presenting a comical satire called ‘Door No. 403’ which will grab the viewers’ attention with its hysterical wit.
With local talent, strategic alliances and strong emphasis on regional content for the four new shows, Viu India will entertain the local global Tamil audience with a bang.
Viu will officially launch its Tamil content on 24th July 2018.
