The media agency has appointed the former CEO of Maxus Australia, Jonathan Chadwick, to fill his shoes as interim Carat boss, Sean O’Brien, takes over as chairman of Dentsu Aegis Network Media.
Having more than 22 years’ media agency experience, Chadwick has held senior roles at Zenith, Mindshare and Maxus in Australia where he was CEO.
He was later promoted to chief strategy officer of GroupM Australia, before undertaking a period of freelance consulting work last year.
Meanwhile, O’Brien, who was the CEO Carat Asia Pacific for six years before taking on the role of Asia Pacific CEO for the group’s agencies MKTG and Posterscope, will now take on the role of chairman. In his new remit, he will oversee the media agencies Carat, Vizeum and Dentsu X.
Nick Waters, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific, said, “It’s great to bring Jon into the group. He has an exceptional range of experience in the media business and has a strong focus on client service, product quality and team culture. He is a wonderful fit for Carat which is the world’s leading media agency and consistently recognised by RECMA as the highest quality agency in Asia Pacific.”
“Sean’s is a new role and is designed to help us manage the portfolio of agencies in a streamlined and efficient manner. Each of the agency leaders is responsible for managing their business, clients and people but will work to a single collective agenda under Sean’s direction increasing synergies and effectiveness.”
