WPP has been ranked as the world’s most effective communications services group in the 2018 Effie Index. It is the seventh year in a row that WPP has received the award.
The Effie Index recognises the companies that create the most effective marketing communications ideas from around the world – in terms of measurable business results for clients.
The ranking is based on companies’ cumulative success in more than 40 national, regional and global Effie Awards competitions. The 2018 Effie Index was compiled from 3,476 finalists and winning entries from worldwide Effie Award competitions throughout 2017.
Mark Read, Chief Operating Officer of WPP, said: “WPP and our agencies are built on talent and creativity, which we apply to help our clients achieve their business goals. We are delighted to be recognised as the world’s most effective group and I would like to thank our people across WPP who are the reason we are celebrating this shared success.”
Traci Alford, President and CEO, Effie Worldwide, said: “The Effies recognise companies and work that deliver demonstrable business results for clients. This year’s Global Effie Index shows that no one has done that more consistently or at greater scale throughout Effie’s recent competition cycle than WPP. To have topped the Holding Company ranking for the seventh consecutive year is an unprecedented achievement and we offer WPP our sincere congratulations.”
