Trivandrum: The 20th Asianet Film Awards 2018 were distributed at a glittering function was held recently at Adlux Convention Centre, Angamali, Cochin. The show was witnessed by 10,000 strong crowd. Several prominent persons From the film industry and socio-cultural spheres were present on the occasion.
Also Asianet celebrated its 25th anniversary with donation of 6 crore to Chief Minister’s Nava Kerala fund. Cheque of Rs 6 crore which was donated by Asianet to the government’s special fund of educational development and health care. Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan has been received From Star India South Managing director K Madhavan in the presence of Mammootty, Kamal Haasan, Innocent, Madhu, Nedumudi Venu and Jayaram.
Popular Star Jayaram’s magical performances thru his 30 years long outstanding film carrier in various languages entertained the viewers numbering in thousands. Also Jayam honored for his 30 years long outstanding film career in various languages.
Nedumudi Venu (Asianet Life Time Achievement Award ) was felicitated by Kamal Hassan for his outstanding contributions to Indian Film Industry.
The event was attended by cross section of stars From South Indian film industry and have colourful programmes performed by leading Malayalam artistes along with a mix of stars From Tollywood & Bollywood. Nadiya Moidu, Aju Varghese, Anusree, Ananya, Sheela, Deepthi Sathi, Aparna Balamurali, Ranjith Shankar, Cippy, Ranjith, Menaka, Suresh Kumar, Muthumani, Siju Wilson, Irshad, Rajeesha Vijayan, Dinesh Nair, Anoop Chandran, Mamukoya, Salim Kumar, Prem Kumar, Antony Perumbavoor, Chemban Vinod, Sunil Sugatha, Kottayam Pradeep, Mareena, Balu, Kichu, Sabareesh Varma, Vijay Babu, Santhosh Kizhattoor are some of the personalities who attend the function.
Fahad Fazil is the best actor and Parvathy was selected as the best actress of the year. ‘Thodimuthalum Drisakshiyum “ won the award for the best film, which was accepted by its producers Sandeep Senan & Anish and Mahesh Narayanan won the award for the best director for the movie ‘ Take off “. Jayasurya , Anu Sithara & Prayaga Martin was on hand to collect the popular award for their outstanding performance in various movies. “ Take Off & Aadu 2 “won the award for the best popular film.
Others who won awards include Dulquer Salmaan (Golden Star), Kunchako Boban (Critics Choice: Best Actor) ,Keerthi Suresh (Popular tamil actress), Shahbaz Amen (best male singer), Swetha Mohan (best female singer), Shanthi Krishna (best character artiste-female), Suraj Venjaramoodu (best character artiste-male), Dharmajan (best actor in a comic role). Rafeeq Ahammed (lyricist ), Bijibal (music director), Aniha (child artiste), Sajeev Pazhoor (Script Writer), debut artistes Appani sarath & Aiswarya Lakshmi , Srinda (best supporting actress) ,Alencier ( best supporting actor ), Kiran Das (best editor), Tovino Thomas (Performer of the year), and Saubin & Joju Mala (Special Jury awards) .
