Mumbai: English Entertainment Channel Star World is now all set to air the all-new season 7 of Homeland beginning this Sunday at 9 PM.
Over the past six seasons, Homeland has always tried to mirror the current political scenario in the real world. The show has been seen immense popularity since its premiere in 2011, with a whopping 163 nominations and 54 wins.
Season 7 of Homeland picks up a couple of months after the previous season, following a fall-out over the assassination of President Keane. Showrunners Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon have transformed President Keane’s character into a vindictive and dictatorial Head of State after an attempt on her life. Carrie has left her job at the White House to secure the release of 200 members of the intelligence community who were arrested under President Keane’s term. Is Keane seeing adversaries where there are none? Can Carrie take on the Keane administration? With Saul in prison, Carrie on a mission to save democracy and Keane’s paranoia spiking through the roof, the show is valiantly trying to espouse the current happenings in the intelligence community.
This season will see Claire Danes return as protagonist, in her role as CIA operative Carrie Mathison. Not only was Claire Danes an accomplished actress before she joined the cast of Homeland, she has left a mark in the space of television with her role on the show. The actress has been nominated for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ since 2011 for the series, winning several of them and paving the way for women to essay lead roles on television, especially in the genres of crime or action. Also, the Oscar nominee and Homeland Executive Producer and Director LesliLinkaGlatter is the only female director to consistently land Emmy nominations for directing a drama series in a male-dominated field where no woman has won in 23 years. Elizabeth Marvel, Maury Sterling, Linus Roache, Jake Weber, Morgan Spector, Mandy Patinkin, F. Murray Abraham will reprise their roles in this action-packed political thriller!
