Kolkata: Colors Bangla is set launch the magnum opus mythological extravaganza – Manasa, that encapsulates the journey of a deprived woman’s tirade against the male domination of our society, starting Monday, January 29th daily at 7pm.
Manasa – the snake Goddess whose myths emphasize her erratic temper and despondency, deep-rooted in the constant rejection by her father Lord Shiva, her husband Sage Jagatkaru, and the hatred of her stepmother Goddess Chandi. Following the melancholic saga of a lonely Goddess who perpetually is the victim of the male chauvinistic behavior prevalent even among celestial Gods, who oppose her right to be worshipped as a Goddess.
Essaying the role of Goddess Manasa, Chandni Saha popularly known for her heart-winning performance in Benebou. said “The character of portraying a Goddess comes with immense responsibility, along with the challenges of the role. Manasa is my first mythological show and I’m preparing for it in every way through extensive research and rehearsals. Goddess Manasa is considered as one of the formidable deities in Hindu mythology and I’m delighted to portray such a role of such magnitude.”
