Chennai: According to the latest report released by Indian Readership Survey 2017 on the top 10 regional magazines, the top 10 regional magazines are seen dominated by the Malayalam and Tamil magazines.
Malayalam magazine Vanitha tops the list and stands as the No.1 regional magazine with total readership of 6126 (000s) in respective periodicity basis.
The Malayalam fortnightly, Vanitha, stands strong at No.1 position with a very high total readership (TR) while the others in line compete with a different numbers.
Following the leader is the Tamil weekly AnandaVikatan and Malayalam monthly Mathrubhumi ArogyaMasika in the 2nd and 3rd places with 2708 (000s) TR and 2269 (000s) TR respectively.
The Tamil weekly Kumudam with is placed in the 4th place with the same number of readership as of Mathrubhumi Arogta Masika’s. Mathrubhumi Thozhilvartha occupies the 5th place with 2235 (000s) TR.
Tamil magazine Kungumam and Malayalam magazine Grihalakshmi is placed in the 6th and 7th positions with a difference of just 56(000s).
Malayalam weekly magazines Balarama and ManoramaThozhilVeedhi have managed to make up to the 8th and 9th positions with 1973 (000s) TR and 1844 (000s) TR. The last place in the list went to the Bengali weekly Karmasangsthan with 1702 (000s) TR this is the only North Indian Regional Language magazine in the list of Top 10 Regional Magazines list.
Taking a glimpse of the regional magazines performances in their respective editions, it is understood that Assamese monthly magazines Bismoi and Nandini have taken the first two places with 516 (000s) TR and 513 (000s) TR respectively, basis respective periodicity.
The Bengali magazine chart is led by weekly magazine Karmasangsthaan with1702 (000s) TR, which is has also occupied the place in the overall top regional magazine list.
Abhiyaan and Chitralekha’s Gujarati edition are the top two magazines taking the first two places with 284 (000s) TR and 272 (000s) TR respectively.
Weekly magazine Sudha has garnered 1307 (000s) TR and stands the No.1 magazine Karnataka, whereas in Kerala Vanitha, which is also the No.1 magazine across regional magazines, is the leader with 6126 (000s) TR. Nijukti Khabar with 576 (000s) TR tops the Oriya list.
Grihashobhika has garnered 572 (000s) TR and tops the Marathi market.
Swati Sapari Vara Patrika is seen as the No.1 in the Telugu market with 1098 (000s) TR.
