Progressing further with its acquisition spree in Asia, Dentsu Aegis Network, has purchased the Indonesian performance-marketing agency Valuklik. With this acquisition, Valuklik founders, Cleosent Randing and Rahul Nambiar, will be given the roles of chairman and CEO of iProspect Valuklik respectively.
The group, which has not disclosed the acquisition cost, will merge Valuklik with iProspect in Indonesia and rebrand the new agency as iProspect Valuklik.
Based in Jakarta, Valuklik has more 55 people, and is claimed to be one of the largest performance marketing companies in Indonesia with clients across sectors such as travel, telecom, media, e-commerce, insurance and FMCG.
The other shareholders, East Ventures and John Marco Rasjid exited the investment and divested their shares in Valuklik.
Dick van Motman, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network South East Asia, said: “Indonesia being the fourth most populous country in the world and the number one powerhouse economy of Southeast Asia, remains a priority for us going forward. With excellent medium and long term growth prospects – particularly in digital advertising, we continue our journey there to be sufficiently scaled and substantially differentiated in this market.
“Valuklik brings with it strong capabilities in performance marketing and search, as well as the needed scale that is paramount to accelerating our business.”
The new acquisition follows a recent spree by DAN in Asia, whereby the group bought Indonesian media agency DwiSapta Group in January, India’s largest independent digital agency SVG Media in April and Singaporean content marketing agency Novus in June.
