Mumbai: The Womb, an advertising and innovations company has won the strategy and creative mandate for ASUS India, the Taiwanese leader in technology. The agency is tasked with the communications mandate for both smartphones and laptops business in India. The Womb has initiated work for its famous ZenFone series, with the rising star and online sensation Disha Patani – the new brand ambassador of ASUS India.
Commenting on the appointment, Arindam Saha, Head Marketing, ASUS India said, “In the journey that we have embarked on in India we needed a partner who is hungry and makes our objectives their own and The Womb does that. Their assessment of the ASUS mobile challenge in India and how it could overcome against the likes of Oppo, Vivo, Samsung and others was spot on. Their understanding of technology and how it can be made exciting to the Indian consumers impressed us instantly!”
Excited by the win, Kawal Shoor, Founding Partner, The Womb stated, “It’s our pleasure to take on the might of Chinese money with Indian thinking and an awesome product from Taiwan. I believe that ASUS is just the guerilla that the Indian smartphone market needs.”
Navin Talreja, Founding Partner, The Womb added, “We are always on the lookout for opportunities to work with awesome brands who are doing very well in other markets but for various reasons find themselves playing the role of challengers in India. ASUS is an extremely successful global player and is now beginning to display it’s smarts in India. Intellectually & creatively there can be nothing more stimulating. Their openness to look at mobile communication differently and not come only from product and feature but from cultural insight is refreshing.”
The Womb is a 2 year old advertising and innovations company started by Kawal Shoor and Navin Talreja, both ex-Ogilvy-ites. Besides Asus, The Womb works with clients like Diageo, Vini Cosmetics, Honeywell India, Saregama, Zeel Rainwear, and on projects with Star India. Notable work includes campaigns like “Kya chal raha hai? Fogg chal raha hai!”, and a partnership with Saregama to help them create a product, and India’s newest rage – Carvaan, the digital audio player.
