New Delhi: The deadline for submission of logo design for public broadcaster Doordarshan has been extended by a week to August 20, PrasarBharati CEO ShashiShekhar Vempati said today.
Doordarshan (DD), using the current logo since 1959, had floated a logo design contest, the winner of which would get a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
“Deadline for a new logo for Doordarshan was extended till the 20th of August in response to many requests,” Vempati said in a tweet.
The last date for submitting the logo design was 13th August 2017.
With the new logo, the broadcaster seeks to connect aggressively with the youth while preserving the “nostalgia” associated with the DD brand.
PrasarBharati runs Doordarshan which broadcasts 23 TV channels across the country and All India Radio (AIR).
