Mumbai: NiteshKripalani, The Country Head of digital OTT Platform Amazon Prime Video India has moved on from the company citing personal reasons.
NiteshKripalani had joined Amazon India in December 2014 as head of the instant video business and was instrumental in stitching deals with various Indian film production companies and content makers.
“Nitesh has decided to move on citing personal reasons,” an Amazon India spokesperson confirmed
Prior to Amazon, Kripalani was working at Sony Pictures Networks India (formerly Multi Screen Media) as executive vice president. He was head of SPN’s new media, business development and digital/syndication and was the brain behind the launch of its VOD platforms Sony Liv and Liv Sports.
Earlier this month, the company announced a worldwide exclusive content deal with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, which experts feels is one of the biggest such deals. It has also signed long-term output deals with five major production houses – Yash Raj Films, Excel Entertainment, Dharma Productions, Vishesh Films and TSeries.
Amazon Prime has triggered a huge competition among digital OTT players with slew of content acquisition deals and it also announced Amazon Prime Originals with the launch of web series Insidse Edge which is happened to be a big success.
