New Delhi: In another case of Information and Broadcasting Ministry being given as an additional charge in the three years of Modi government, Union textiles minister SmritiIrani has been given additional charge of the information and broadcasting ministry on Monday in an announcement made by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Apparently, SmritiIrani becomes the fourth I&B Minster in the three years of government. SmritiIrani succeeds PrakashJavdekar, ArunJaitely and Venkaiah Naidu. The development comes after BharatiyaJanata Party-led National Democratic Alliance announced Union minister Venkaiah Naidu’s name as its vice-presidential nominee.
The PMO India has tweeted today morning at 10:51 AM stating “The additional charge of the Ministry of I&B has been given to @smritiirani”
