BARC Data shows Republic TV bigger than all channels put together
Mumbai: Arnab Goswami’s independent global media venture Republic TV has made a historic debut and come out as the numero uno channel, bigger than all English news channels put together in the Indian news space.
Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data dated (06th May to 12th May’2017)Week 19 show that the channel, within hours of its launch, began inching towards beating the leaders in the segment(All India 1 Mn+; NCCS AB Male 22+, All Time bands) with 52% viewership in the first week of its launch. Having been one of the most anticipated channel launches in India, Arnab Goswami’s Republic TV, made a scintillating entrance on May 06, 2017.
With this Republic TV emerge as the undisputed market leader and owe the position to their impeccable understanding of the viewer’s news consumption preferences, and content strategy. Viewers, media analysts and industry experts affirm that the entrance of Republic TV has created a radical shift in the way news is perceived and delivered in the country and the standing was expected.
Republic TV has also created a deep impact beyond television screens and established itself as the digital news tool of India driven by state of art technology. NDTV 24×7 was a faraway no. 3 with 352 and India Today at no. 4 with 350 while CNN-News18 was at no. 5 with 315 impressions 000s.
