Chennai: Vikatan Cinema awards on its 10th edition this year is set for a big leap by transforming in to a prime event property with an award night that will be witnessing the participation of celebrities from the film industry associated with cultural performances that will be televised for the first time.
While the Vikatan Cinema Awards event will be held on Friday, 13th of January 2017, at the Chennai Trade Centre. The televised content will be aired as two parts on Sun TV around the first week of Feb, 2017.
Ananda Vikatan Magazine’s annual cinema is recognising the talents in the Tamil film industry since 2008. The Award has positioned itself as a platform that respects talent in the field of Cinema, Arts, Sports, Literature and Media with its tagline “Thiramaikku Mariyathai” (‘an ode to talent’).
The Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards are uniquely chosen by a process in which the editorial team of Ananda Vikatan magazine will be finalizing the winners based on various merit aspects. The event will witness distribution of awards in as many as 40 categories along with the prestigious SS Vasan Lifetime Achievement Award.
