Chennai: Star India’s second GEC in Tamil, Vijay Super, is set for a revamp with yesteryear top rated shows of its primary channel Vijay TV starting from 16th January.
Vijay Super was soft launched recently, but, the channel was airing songs, Film based programs and trailers without a standard Fixed Point Chart (FPC) apart from the live coverage of various Sporting events of Star Sports in Tamil feed.
After successfully placing the channel across all distribution networks in the Tamil Nadu market, the Channel authorities had chalked out an agressive plans to put the channel in to serious business and garner a sizable volume of viewership from its rivals by re-running the archival contents of Vijay TV.
The list of shows lined-up on Vijay Super comprises some of the big hit shows like Kanak Kaanum Kalangal (8 PM) and Kathalikka Neramilla (8:30 PM) and bunch of ancient Indian mythology shows Ramayana, Mahabharata and Seethayin Raman in its evening time-bands.
Seethayin Raman and Mahabaratham attracted decent audience to Vijay TV and it always enjoys multiple repeat values also and Vijay Super aims to leverage these aspects to drive its viewership upward.
According to the channel source Vijay Super will be positioned as a re-run channel that extends opportunity for the viewers to revisit their yesteryear hit shows and it will also be used for airing the Tamil feed of important sports leagues and tournaments that will be aired on Star Sports.
