Mumbai: Times Network, the television arm of India’s largest media conglomerate, The Times Group (Bennett Coleman & Company Ltd), confirmed the resignation of Arnab Goswami, President News & Editor-In-Chief of Times NOW, ET NOW and Magicbricks NOW. The Media Group has confirmed the development through an official statement today evening.
The statement also stated that Arnab will remain in his current position with Times Network till the latter half of November 2016 and will continue anchoring the flagship show Newshour till then.
M K Anand, MD & CEO, Times Network, while conveying his best wishes to Mr. Goswami, commented that, “Times Network cherishes the decade long association it had with Arnab. We are sure he will do well in his next endeavor and our good wishes are with him.”
In the spirit of reciprocity, Mr. Arnab Goswami remembered his long journey with Times NOW and shared, “It’s been an exciting rides at Times Network. We have changed the way news is done and I have worked with fantastic professionals in this journey. To these professionals, I dedicate the success of the last decade as I look forward now to the future”
Last week Arnab has broken the news on his plans to move on from Times NOW in an editorial meeting with his colleagues and also expressed that he will be launching his own News Media Venture shortly.
Unconfirmed Sources also reveal that Arnab is likely to join hands with the Politician, Venture Capitalist and South Indian Media Owner Rajeev Chandrasekar who owns Asianet News Channels in Kerala and Karnataka. The Proposed partnership might be part of his ambitions to explore National News Space that might fuel Arnabs hunger to go on his own.
However, it industry is likely to get a clear picture on Arnab’s future plans towards the end of November.
