New Delhi: Network18 has once again been recognized for outstanding journalism at the latest edition of the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards. 3 Network18 channels, namely CNN-News18, CNBC-TV18 and IBN-Lokmat bagged 4 awards at a grand ceremony held on 2nd November, 2016 at ITC Maurya in New Delhi. The awardees were felicitated by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi.
CNN-News18’s Cricket Editor Sanjeeb Mukherjea won the award in the ‘Sports Journalism’ category for his reporting on ‘IPL Spot-Fixing Tapes involving Rajasthan Royals players’. Subhajit Sengupta, channel’s North East Bureau Head was awarded in the category of ‘Reporting from J&K and the North East’ for his documentary ‘Assam: Killing Fields’ on the killing of Muslims and Adivasis in Bodoland Territorial area.
CNBC-TV18’s Reporter Archana Shukla won the award in the ‘Business & Economics Journalism’ category for her coverage of the rural economy through the series ‘What’s Ailing Rural India’, which dealt with the coverage of the agrarian crisis in Marathwada, the worsening drought situation in Bundelkhand and Union Budget in the context of rural India.
IBN-Lokmat’s Reporter Halimabi Abdul Kureshi won the award in the ‘Reporting on Politics and Government’ category for her story on the impact of the beef ban law In Maharashtra on society and industry.
