Week 40 of the year witnessed news channels holding the command. The viewership ratings went much higher than that of a regular week. While the Hindi channels gained twice the normal rating, the English channels whopped thrice their grade.
The surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army across the Line of Control reflected in week 39 across the television news channels. Needless to say, people wanted to know what’s happening along the border. As expected, week 40 saw the best of it on the news genre and the television channels saw the viewership graph go higher and higher during the week.
The increase in viewership registered by most of the Hindi news channels was 24 per cent with marginal variances between the channels while the English news channels got it higher than that, with Times Now scoring at 30 per cent. Subsequently, the comments followed from various quarters and the controversies geared up a line of furore above the space.
Let’s look at the impressions each channel could make out. Aaj Tak garnered 165 million impressions followed by India TV with 139 million. India News stood up in the third place with 132 million while the popular Zee News had 118 impressions and ABP News gained 115 impressions.
Among the English News Channels, Times Now garnered 1.340 million impressions, while CNN News18 stood at No. 2 with 0.505 million impressions. At No. 3 was India Today Television in Week 40, which registered 0.349 million impressions, followed by NDTV 24X7 and News X.
Should we call it a force ascended due to the national integrity..? A surge of interest to be honoured..? True to the senses, we all would, as we love our country and every one of us like to be recognized as nationalists and patriots. Our love for the country is not counted on commercial lines isn’t it?
