Chennai: As reported earlier on tvnews4u.com (Sun TV Network adds fantasy power to GECs with Jai Hanuman & Naagin) the addition of Fantasy power to the Fiction line-up of Sun TV Network’s GECs in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam has witnessed a massive opening in the respective time slots of the Channels.
The Channels in-fact managed to gained 3x to 5x times additional viewership, when compared with the previous week performance of the channel in respective time bands.
For instance, According to BARC data released for week 25, the Telugu version of Naagini on Gemini TV that was launched in the 9:00 PM time band during the week days has opened with 4.05 TVR against 1.50 TVR in week 24. This translate in to threefold increase of viewership in Gemini TV’s 9:00 PM slot and it also became the top rated Prime Time Fiction show on Gemini TV in the very first week itself.
Similarly, the Malayalam version of Naagini titled as Naagakanyaka that was aired on Surya TV’s 9:00 PM to 9:30 PM time band has managed to open with 2.93 TVR against previous week average of 0.6 TVR, a fivefold week on week increase.
Moreover, According to the Zapr data (a TV Audience data measured through Mobile users perspective) has revealed that the Tamil version of Naagin on Sun TV has experienced a 2.2x rise in its TV viewership compared to the average viewership of ‘Aathira’ in the previous week for the same time slot. ‘Nagini’ also claimed the highest TV viewership across Tamil entertainment shows in the 10:00 PM to 10:30 PM slot for the day.
The Sun TV’s premiere of ‘Nagini’ showcased on 27th June managed to attracting 3.1 million TV viewers. The episode experienced a peak in its TV viewership from 10:05 PM to 10:20 PM, followed by a gradual dip in the latter parts of the episode telecast.
It is expected that the opening trend in Gemini TV and Surya TV are likely to continue further given the performance scenario of Naagin on Colors.
