GroupM agency Mindshare has appointed Maneesheel Gautam as its first digital lead for the Southeast Asia region.
Moving into the new role Maneesheel Gautam has worked for Mindshare for 16 years in a number of countries beginning in his native India and for the last five years in Jakarta.
Gautam’s appointment comes less than two years after his boss, Mindshare Indonesia CEO Himanshu Shekhar, became the first Jakarta-based regional media agency head when he was promoted to Southeast Asia CEO.
Gautam joins with a brief to build FAST, which stands for Future Adaptive Specialist Team, Mindshare’s service model aimed at building sector-specific solutions for marketers using real-time insights, and to grow the agency’s performance business in Southeast Asia.
In a statement, Shekhar said, “Gautam played a key role in driving Mindshare and our clients’ digital ambition in the market. His great work not only won industry awards for the agency, but also helped grow Indonesia’s digital sector overall. I have no doubt that he will achieve even more in his new role.”
While Indonesia is a relatively low-penetration digital market, it is one of the fastest growing, particularly in mobile, a medium that Mindshare has invested heavily in during Shekhar’s tenure running the business.
