Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAS) is in the midst of a global media pitch.
The pitch which was to close yesterday has been extended to tomorrow and covers duties such as media planning and buying, social media and search engine marketing. The MAS media contract runs for two years with periodical reviews in between.
It is understood that at least five agencies are vying for the account. This includes the likes of Havas Media, Starcom, Mindshare, Zenith and incumbents IPG.
IPG first won the account in 2012 following a global pitch which covered four continents and more than 22 countries.
Most recently, MAS appointed M&C Saatchi as its creative agency. This came following a pitch called approximately a year ago which drew in at least 15 network agencies involved.
The highly sought after business drew the attention of the 4A’s in Malaysia which later asked MAS to pay a pitch fee.
