Facebook has appointed global chief client officer of WPP-owned media agency Maxus, Neil Stewart, as head of agency for APAC.
There are no current plans to directly replace his role at Maxus. Instead his responsibilities will be shared out across the senior client leader team at Maxus.
Stewart, who will take up his new role in January, will be based in Singapore.
Global chief executive Lindsay Pattison said: “Neil was a very early recruit into our family and has helped to shape the great agency we are today. He grew the Asia Pacific region at a tremendous rate, has been pivotal in our success and made many, many friends along the way. Everyone here thanks Neil for the great work he’s done for Maxus, and we all wish him luck in his new role at Facebook.”
Stewart has been at Maxus for the last six years, latterly as global chief client officer – a new role created last year.
He described Facebook as one of the main organisations driving change in how people connect spend time online and on mobile, adding he was “naturally delighted” to be joining them in the new year.
