Patrick Rona, the Asia Pacific president of DDB’s digital arm Tribal Worldwide, has moved to McCann to take on a similar role.
Rona joins as chief digital offer and starts at the beginning of next year.
Charles Cadell, McCann’s regional president, said in a statement that deepening the agency’s digital strengths was a “strategic imperative”, hence bringing Rona across.
He said: “Digital constantly evolves, to remain competitive, we must keep pace to ensure we are providing our clients with richer, innovative solutions that ignite new opportunities in order to engage and interact with consumers to build relationships and revenue growth.”
Rona commented: “Since moving to Asia three years ago, I’ve watched McCann’s business and creative growth with great admiration. I can’t wait to start working with Charles [Cadell] and the rest of the team to help accelerate this growth and to continue elevate our digital offering across the region.”
Before moving to DDB’s Asian operation, Rona worked for the agency in Europe. His career also involves stints at OgilvyOne, Digitas, Agency.com and Craik Jones, a British direct and digital agency.
