Mumbai : Marathi news channel Maharashtra 1, which started its service on 1st January 2016 has signed a distribution pact with the leading DTH operator Tatasky. The Channel will be available on Tatasky since Sunday, 21st February.
Apparently, The Nikhil Waghle led 24×7 News channel Maharashtra1 has started its maiden beaming in DTH platform on TataSky and the channel is in the process of expanding to other DTH platform also in due course.
The Free to air news channel is available on Tatasky in channel number 802. The Channel has reached to popularity and created a huge buzz in the market by involving itself in various social issues that attracted governments immediate response. The channel also sphere headed the issue of removing the ban on entry of women in famous Shani temple in Maharashtra.
“We are currently present on all the multi-system operators (MSOs) except UCN Nagpur. Now with a presence on Tata Sky, we have made a move towards DTH. We decided to go ahead with Tata Sky because it’s a premium platform and fits the bill for a premium channel like ours,” said a channel official.
It may be noted that Maharashtra1 has roped in Fourth Dimension Media Solutions as the ad sales partner, which is already selling leading Tamil Infotainment Channel Puthiyathalaimurai TV and No. 1 Telugu News Channel V6 News.
