New Delhi : nexGTv, India’s biggest subscription-driven video entertainment app, together with acclaimed director and master storyteller Imtiaz Ali, had recently launched SPOTLight, inviting applicants to create and post their short videos exclusively on www.nexgtvspotlight.com for Imtiaz to review and judge the best from the month’s Top 5 most viewed videos on its mobile app nexGTv.
Ending the suspense which saw both amateur and expert video content developers, including numerous creative professionals vying for the top spot, nexGTv – finally announced ‘Live-in’ as the first monthly winning entry for its ‘SPOTLight’ initiative. Painting with Fire – another short video from Soumitra Dasgupta, a 57-Year-old Art Director from Delhi, won the laurels for the runners up!
The lucky winner – Ankit Dahiya, a 26-Year old freelance film maker from Mumbai, handpicked by the contest’s judge filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, wins a cash prize of INR 1 lakh while the runners up Soumitra Dasgupta wins an opportunity to get sponsor onboard for his next creative/ directorial debut.
Announcing the names of the winners, Mr. Abhesh Verma, Chief Operating Officer, nexGTV, said, “SPOTLight was incepted as India’s first mobile talent discovery platform for independent video creators and amateur as well as professional film makers to not just showcase their talent in front of the world but also to monetize their offerings simultaneously. The winning entry ‘Live-in’, available at http://m.nexgtv.com/live-in.html, is a light-hearted take on the concept of a live-in relationship and portrays the endless quirks and irritations of having to share one’s personal space with another person in a funny manner, demonstrating how these little things, in fact, make every relationship even more special!
On the other hand, Soumitra Dasgupta’s Painting with Fire, available at http://r.nexg.tv/1RtabJm, highlights the creator’s deep, solemn and very personal connection with fire.
